Very important that Johnson realises that playing an hour in a defeat and doing OK is just a start and doesn't make you a superstar.
If I remember rightly Rice had a few set backs at the start and it was the making of him.
These young fellas have enough clowns round them bigging them up without people on here adding to it

It’s AC who shouldn’t be anywhere near starting! And when he does come on he needs crosses into the box constantly to be effective- not our style anymore thankfully

According to Claretandhugh Johnson is not in the squad.
He says both Cresswell and Masuaku are but Cresswell will be assessed today.
Johnson had cramp,Cresswell should play with a broken toe, most footballers can and do play with it through out there career. Usually a pain killing injection should sort it. No Masuaku please.

Scorchio - Zabaleta is fit too but both the left backs are injured. I see in the C & H article on Alan's thread that Arthur has an "unknown injury". Sounds distinctly dodgy.

So Fredericks is our only properly fit full back?
How do we keep getting almost all players at the same position injured at the same time?

Only saw the first half of the game yesterday, but thought Obiang was a bit lost in midfield and terrible in possession. Noble and Rice to hold with Lanzini (snodgrass if Lanzini can't go 60 after yesterday) in the attacking role. Anderson and Antonio on the wings. I wouldn't use Carroll or Chicharito for this game, so hopefully Arnie is fit. Fredericks has to start RB. They have too much pace on the left side now. the rest of the back line we're stuck with whoever is fit.

Back five played very well, don't change that assuming no injuries or injury returns. (Cresswell would be a great addition)
Midfield was where I think the biggest problems were. Noble and either Nasri or Lanzini. along with Rice.
Upfront, no really sure to be honest.
Carroll actually played decent will limited touches, but Hernandez is a better striker at this point but who knows whats up with him or Arnautovic
The other two stay unless you want to give Anderson a rest and can start Lanzini. Should not need that though.
